The process of building a concrete pool shell from A to Z. Episode #2. We'll walk through the construction stages and the progress of the work. We'll use the new pool we're building at the SOBI Country Club as an example.

The second stage is waterproofing the concrete sub-base. Groundwater or rainwater often gets under the pool shell. To protect the shell from contact with water, waterproofing is essential.

Important information: When choosing waterproofing, consider the site's geology. If the groundwater level is high, a bitumen-based waterproofing coating is not sufficient. It's recommended to apply two layers of rolled waterproofing, similar to bitumen roofing felt, over the bitumen primer. This will guarantee the pool's bottom is protected even in high groundwater conditions.
